The Line: Iowa Hawkeyes +5 -- Over/Under:
The Oregon Ducks and Iowa Hawkeyes meet Thursday in the college basketball 2K Classic at Madison Square Garden.
The Oregon Ducks look for a statement victory to build on their quick 2-0 start. The Oregon Ducks are averaging 82.5 points on 51.4 percent shooting and allowing 52 points on 26.1 percent shooting. Bol Bol is averaging 17.5 points and 12 rebounds while Payton Pritchard is averaging 16 points and 5.5 assists. Paul White is the third double-digit scorer and Ehab Amin is grabbing 4.5 rebounds. The Oregon Ducks are shooting 43.8 percent from beyond the arc and 74 percent from the free throw line. The Oregon Ducks are allowing 22.5 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 45.5 rebounds per game. The Oregon Ducks have split their last six non-home games.
The Iowa Hawkeyes also look to improve to 3-0 on the season after two quick victories. The Iowa Hawkeyes are averaging 85 points on 48 percent shooting and allowing 72.5 points on 41.4 percent shooting. Tyler Cook is averaging 14.5 points and seven rebounds while Jordan Bohannon is averaging 12.5 points and three assists. Luka Garza is the third double-digit scorer and Joe Wieskamp is grabbing 5.5 rebounds. The Iowa Hawkeyes are shooting 27.9 percent from beyond the arc and 74.7 percent from the free throw line. The Iowa Hawkeyes are allowing 30.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 39.5 rebounds per game. The Iowa Hawkeyes have lost five of their last six non-home games.
The Ducks are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 Thursday games, 5-2-2 ATS in their last 9 vs. Big Ten and 0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 neutral site games. The Hawkeyes are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 neutral site games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss. The over is 18-7-1 in Hawkeyes last 26 overall and the under is 6-2 in Ducks last 8 overall.
The Iowa Hawkeyes are a dangerous team in this spot considering they're well coached, experienced and get after it defensively. The problem is the Oregon Ducks are explosive offensively and if those outside shots are falling, there's not much Iowa can do to counter. I also don't think Iowa has much of an answer for Bol Bol, who has been on a tear two games into the season. I'll lay the reasonable line with the Ducks.
