Miami (OH) Redhawks -2.0 . Total 151.5

The Miami (OH) Redhawks open their season against the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons.  Miami (OH) finished last season with a record of (15-17).  The Mastodons (1-2) are coming off a loss on the road to Southeast Missouri State, 79-78.

Miami (OH) returns 3 starters from last year's team.  The Redhawks are projected to finish 5th in the MAC East Division this season.  The Redhawks and coach Jack Owens will be looking for Nike Sibande to be the leader this year.  Sibande averaged 16.1 points per contest last year.  Dalonte Brown also returns, Brown averaged 11.5 points per contest a year ago.

The Mastodons in the loss to SEMO were led in scoring by Brian Patrick.  Patrick finished with a double-double, totaling 24 points and 12 rebounds.  SEMO led by as many as 15 points in the game.  The biggest lead came with about 4min into the 2nd half and the Mastodons started to chip away.  The Mastodons tied the game and eventually took the lead with 2:53 left.  Semo would hit a 3 pointer with less then 30 seconds to go, to propel them to the victory.  The Mastodons shot 40% from the floor, but allowed SEMO to shoot 47% from distance.  The Mastodons did out rebound SEMO 42 to 35.

Miami (OH) will be opening the season here, hoping to finish with an above .500 record this year.  Purdue Fort Wayne is coming off a heart breaking loss to Southeast Missouri State.  The Mastodons almost beat SEMO without their leading scorer doing much.  Marcus Deberry did score 12 but most of that came late.  The Mastodons get a home win here, as the Redhawks will be trying to shake off the rust from the offseason.  Final score prediction, Purdue Fort Wayne outright wins, 74-71.
