Summit League college basketball pits the North Dakota Fighting Hawks at the Purdue-Fort Wayne Mastodons.

The North Dakota Fighting Hawks defeated the Denver Pioneers on 81-63 on Saturday as a 4.5 point home favorite for consecutive wins.

North Dakota is ranked 6thin the standings with two games remaining on the schedule and could be higher but their defense has cost them at times.

The balanced Fighting Hawks saw 19 points and five pulls from Kienan Walter with Billy Brown adding 18 points and four yanks.

North Dakota received 17 points and three boards from Marlon Stewart followed by Cortez Seales and Connor Avants with 12 and eleven points.

The Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons have lost two in a row after a 92-83 defeat at South Dakota State as a nine point road dog.

Purdue Fort Wayne had won five in a row to storm to third in the Summit League but two straight defeats with two games left has the team looking vulnerable.

John Konchar starred for the Mastodons with 27 points, nine rebounds and six helpers while Matt Holba added 15 points and nine rebounds.

Matt Wier and Marcus DeBerry gave Purdue-Fort Wayne nine points apiece followed by Kason Harrell with eight points and five pulls.

North Dakota Fighting Hawks are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS win and North Dakota Fighting Hawks are 35-17-2 ATS in their last 54 games following a straight up win.

Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 vs. Summit and Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 home games.

The Mastodons are monsters at home so I feel laying the points with the more explosive team is the way to go…

Purdue Fort Wayne -9

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
