The Western Illinois Leathernecks pay a visit to Summit foe the IUPU-Ft. Wayne Mastodons in a Wednesday college basketball tilt.

The Western Illinois Leathernecks won’t be cracking the top four in the Summit so the team will be looking for a favorable matchup in the playoffs. Western Illinois comes off a 71-68 loss at Nebraska Omaha with the Mavericks 10-3 edge at the stripe being the biggest difference.

Kobe Webster was the Leathernecks top weapon with 20 points, five pulls and five assists with Dalan Ancrum adding 15 points and nine rebounds. WIU received 14 points from CJ Duff followed by Brandon Gilbeck with eight points and three blocks.

The IUPU-Ft. Wayne Mastodons have battled inconsistency this season with the team unable to string wins together. Fort Wayne has lost back to back games following  a 90-85 loss at Nebraska Omaha where the Mavericks held a decisive 24-6 edge at the stripe.

John Konchar kept the Mastodons in contention with 22 points, seven rebounds and six assists with Bryson Scott adding 19 points and five pulls. Kason Harrell gave Fort Wayne 16 points while Xsavier Taylor tossed in ten points and posted four yanks.

Under is 4-1 in Western Illinois last 5 overall and under is 4-1 in Western Illinois last 5 vs. Summit. Over is 40-17-1 in IPFW last 58 home games and IPFW are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Wednesday games and IPFW are 41-19-3 ATS in their last 63 home games. 

IPFW lost to Western Illinois on the road and should bounce back and get the win but with numbers that all over I’ll take the points…
