IUPUI Jaguars -9 O/U: 149
The Cleveland State Vikings and the IUPUI Jaguars will match up on the college basketball circuit Thursday.
Cleveland State enters this game with a 5-12 record overall. The Vikings have lost their last four straight games, falling to Oakland, Detroit, Milwaukee and Green Bay consecutively during that time.
In the loss to the Phoenix, Cleveland State guard Tyree Appleby led the team on 27 points with seven assists and two rebounds. Rashad Williams added 15 points for the Vikings, and Deante Johnson corralled 10 rebounds with eight points.
Over on the IUPUI side, they’re 9-7 on the year. The Jaguars were on a four-game skid versus Fort Wayne, Morehead State, Northern Kentucky and Wright State before edging out UIC in their last appearance.
In the win over the Flames, IUPUI’s lead scorer was Cameron Justice with 30 points, four rebounds and two assists. Jaylen Minnett added 12 points for the Jags and Elyjah Goss had a nice day on the boards with 11 and five points.
The Vikings are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 following a straight-up loss and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 following an ATS win. Cleveland State is 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the Horizon League and the over is 6-0 in their last six road games.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six home games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight versus the Horizon League. IUPUI is 12-5-2 ATS in their last 19 overall and 15-36 ATS in their last 51 Thursday games.
Cleveland State is a pretty frustrating team this season. They’ve got ample firepower on the offensive side of the ball, but routinely cough up big numbers on the other side (89 to Oakland, 73 to Detroit, 83 to Milwaukee, 90 to Green Bay, and so on).
As for IUPUI, they’ve got some scorers as well but have only put up 130 combined points over their last two games. I’m not super-pumped about Cleveland State here, but I’m going to stick with them on the cover. The over might not be a bad play either.
