IUPUI held a 61-49 lead with just 4:56 left in regulation, however, had to hang on late for the victory after Oakland made it a one-possession game with just :54 seconds left in regulation. IUPUI shot 42.9% from the field and outrebounded Oakland by a 47-37 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Jaguars was D.J. McCall who had 18 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals.
On the season, IUPUI is averaging 72.9 ppg on 41.8% shooting from the field. The Jaguars are averaging 9.9 three-pointers per game on 37.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, IUPUI has been led by Camron Justice (19.5 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 2.7 apg, 1.2 spg), Jaylen Minnett (10.8 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 1.7 apg), Evan Hall (9.1 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.2 apg), and D.J. Defensively, IUPUI is allowing their opponents to average 72.9 ppg on 43.4% shooting from the field. The Jaguars have a rebound margin of 4.8 and a turnover margin of -0.2.
The Titans are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up loss and 14-5 ATS in their last 19 games overall. The Jaguars are 24-53-1 ATS in their last 78 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record and just 3-12-2 ATS in their last 18 Saturday games.
Detroit Mercy has lost 3 of their last 5 games and although they are solid offensively from beyond the arc, the Titans rank just 297th in FG% and once against are giving up a bunch of points as they rank just T-295th in scoring defense & 279th in defensive FG%. IUPUI has won 4 of their last 6 games and has been decent on both sides of the ball as they rank 101st in scoring offense, 152nd in FG%, 164th in defensive FG%, and 57th in rebound margin.
Detroit has been playing better than expected this season, however, this is still a team that gives up a ton of points and comes into this game with just a 3-8 record on the road. If you take away the Titans two wins on the road against Youngstown State & Cleveland State (combined 11-27 record), Detroit Mercy has lost their last 5 away games by an average of 24.2 ppg. IUPUI is a solid, middle of the pack team in the Horizon this season and between the fact that their 7-2 at home this season and have an offense that should be able to put up some points against the Titans defense, I’m taking IUPUI to cover this home spread.
