IUPUI Jaguars -5 -- Over/Under: 157.5
The Green Bay Phoenix will travel to the Indiana Farmers Coliseum to take on the IUPUI Jaguars this Sunday afternoon in College Basketball action.
The Green Bay Phoenix won their 3rd straight game and improved to 15-13 (9-6 Horizon) on the season after defeating the UIC Flames, 63-62, this past Friday. Green Bay went into halftime trailing by a 39-20 margin, however, dominated UIC on both ends of the court in the 2nd half and was able to take the lead for good after Sandy Cohen III hit a lay-up with 1:01 left in regulation. Green Bay held UIC to just 37.9% shooting from the field and 14.3% shooting from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Phoenix was Sandy Cohen III who had 20 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, and 3 steals.
On the season, Green Bay is averaging 82.0 ppg on 45.4% shooting from the field. The Phoenix are averaging 8.0 three-pointers per game on 33.8% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Green Bay has been led by Sandy Cohen III (16.7 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 4.5 apg, 2.0 spg, 1.0 bpg), JayQuan McCloud (13.7 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 2.2 apg), Kameron Hankerson (9.6 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.0 spg), and PJ Pipes (6.5 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 1.3 apg).
Defensively, Green Bay is allowing their opponents to average 80.6 ppg on 44.8% shooting from the field. The Phoenix have a rebound margin of -3.4 and a turnover margin of 3.0.
The IUPUI Jaguars snapped their 4-game losing streak and improved to 15-13 (7-8 Horizon) on the season after defeating the Milwaukee Panthers, 67-60, this past Friday. IUPUI was down by a 50-45 margin midway through the 2nd half, however, was solid defensively the rest of the way and pulled away for the victory after a 6-0 run gave IUPUI a 60-54 lead with 2:43 left in regulation. IUPUI held Milwaukee to just 38.5% shooting from the field and outrebounded the Panthers by a 37-32 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Jaguars was Jaylen Minnett who had 22 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assists, and 2 steals.
On the season, IUPUI is averaging 76.8 ppg o 45.3% shooting from the field. The Jaguars are averaging 6.9 three-pointers per game on 33.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, IUPUI has been led by Camron Justice (18.9 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 2.9 apg, 1.4 spg), Jaylen Minnett (11.9 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 1.8 apg), Evan Hall (9.5 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 1.5 apg), and D.J. McCall (7.9 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.4 spg).
Defensively, IUPUI is allowing their opponents to average 73.3 ppg on 44.5% shooting from the field. The Jaguars have a rebound margin of 4.7 and a turnover margin of 0.7.
The Phoenix are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall, however, are just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games. The Jaguars are 12-3 ATS in their last 15 Sunday games and 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record.
Green Bay has won 5 of their last 6 games and although their defense ranks just 341st in scoring defense, the Phoenix offense has been solid as they rank 22nd in scoring offense and 67th in assists per game.
IUPUI has split their last 10 games and currently rank 77th in scoring offense, 228th in scoring defense, and 46th in rebound margin.
Green Bay has been playing some solid basketball as of late, however, the Phoenix have struggled in the 2nd game of conference road trips this season as they are 0-3 in this scenario, losing by an average of 14.3 ppg. IUPUI picked a much-needed win against Milwaukee and between the fact that the Jaguars are 10-4 at home and that they should have success on the offensive end against the Green Bay defense, I’m taking IUPUI to cover this mid-range spread.
