Horizon college basketball action pits the Youngstown State Penguins against the Indians-Purdue Jaguars.

The Youngstown State Penguins need a change in momentum after a 78-63 loss at UIC left the team with a 1-4 start in the Horizon.

Youngstown State trailed by 23 points at the halfway point but 30.8% shooting could not compete with the Flames 55.4% accuracy.

Jelani Simmons was the Penguins only double digit scorer with 18 points and five pulls with Darius Quisenberry adding eight points, four boards and four helpers.

Olamide Pedersen gave Youngstown State seven points and five boards followed by Garrett Covington and Michael Akuchie with six points each.

The Indiana-Purdue Jaguars have followed a four game slide with consecutive victories after routing Cleveland State 90-74 Thursday as an 8.5 point home favorite.

Indiana-Purdue built an eight point lead at the intermission and continued to pull away behind 58.6% marksmanship and a +18 on the backboards.

Elyjah Goss topped the Jaguars with 16 points and 13 rebound with Camron Justice, DJ McCall and Ahmed Ismail tossing in 13 points apiece.

Indiana-Purdue received 12 points and three yanks from Nick Rogers followed by Evan Hall with another ten points and seven rebounds.

Youngstown State Penguins are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and Youngstown State Penguins are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. Under is 6-2 in IUPUI last 8 vs. Horizon League and over is 7-3 in IUPUI last 10 overall.

The Jaguars are tough at home and have blow out potential but I am not thrilled with either side…

Pick:
Youngstown State +10

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
