Belmont has won 6 of their last 8 games and although their defense can give up some points as they currently rank 270th in scoring defense, the Bruins have an explosive offense that currently ranks 10th in scoring offense, 4th in assists per game, 38th in FG%, and 26th in three-pointers made per game. Jacksonville State has won 7 of their last 8 games and have been led by their defense this season which currently ranks 46th in scoring defense, 58th in rebound margin, and 32nd in defensive FG%.
Belmont has been one of the best teams in the OVC for many years and this year isn’t any different, however, if there is one team that has recently given the Bruins some trouble, it’s been Jacksonville State who has won their last 4 match-ups against Belmont. Jacksonville State has an outstanding defense and between the fact that they already defeated Belmont on the road this season and are undefeated at home on the year, I’m taking Jacksonville State to cover this small home spread.
