James Madison Dukes -3 O/U: 137.5
The Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens and the James Madison Dukes will meet up on the college basketball circuit Saturday.
Delaware comes into this matchup at 16-11 on the year. Following a three-game losing streak to Elon, William & Mary and Charleston, the Hens have won their last pair versus UNCW and Towson.
In the 2OT win over the Tigers, Delaware’s top scorer was Ryan Allen with 30 points, six rebounds and one assist. Eric Carter logged 16 points and seven rebounds for the Hens in that one, and Ithiel Horton put up 15 points.
Over on the James Madison side, they’re 11-15 this season. The Dukes have won two of their last three games, falling to Towson while taking out UNCW and Drexel during that stretch.
In the win over the Dragons, James Madison’s lead scorer was Dwight Wilson, who doubled up on 20 points and 18 rebounds. Stuckey Mosley added 15 points for the Dukes in that one, and Deshon Parker and Matt Lewis each registered 11 points.
The Hens are 1-4-1 ATS in their last six versus a team with a losing straight-up record and 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven overall. Delaware is 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven versus the CAA and 0-4-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the Dukes are 2-6 ATS in their last eight overall and 2-6 ATS in their last eight versus the CAA. JMU is 1-6 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up win and 1-7 ATS in their last eight after an ATS win.
Delaware had a few scoring lulls last month, but over their last three games the Hens have scored at least 70 points in each (one was buoyed by two overtimes, but still). It’s an encouraging trend that bodes well against a James Madison squad that has been wildly inconsistent on the scoreboard across their last handful of outings.
Even though they’re pretty cold ATS lately, I’m going to go with Delaware to eke into a road cover here, so long as they can keep their defense on point.
