The Drexel Dragons and the James Madison Dukes will meet up on the college basketball court Thursday.

Drexel enters this one at 12-14 on the season. The Dragons had won consecutive games versus Elon and UNCW, but fell in a close game to Charleston in their last outing Saturday.

In the loss to the Cougars, Drexel’s top scorer was Troy Harper with 30 points, five rebounds and three assists. Alihan Demir chipped in 18 points in that one for the Dragons, and Camren Wynter added 16 points with six assists.

Over on the JMU side, they’re 10-15 this season. The Dukes have lost seven of their last eight games, dropping to Delaware, Drexel, Hofstra, Northeastern, Charleston and Towson during that time.

In the loss to the Tigers, James Madison’s Stuckey Mosley led the way on 14 points, four rebounds and three assists. Matt Lewis (13 points; four rebounds) and Darius Banks (11 points; five rebounds) each provided double-figures for the Dukes in that one.

The Dragons are 5-0 ATS in their last five Thursday games and 6-0 ATS in their last six after an ATS win. Drexel is 7-0 ATS in their last seven overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five road games.

Meanwhile, the Dukes are 1-6 ATS in their last seven overall and 1-6 ATS in their last seven versus the CAA. JMU is 1-4 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss and 0-7 ATS in their last seven Thursday games.

Drexel fell behind early in their loss to Charleston, and put up a good second-half fight that almost managed them a comeback win in the 86-84 defeat. It was a good points total for the Dragons following three straight without hitting 70 points.

Still, the Dragons probably don’t have a whole lot to worry about here, even though JMU got within five (73-68) the last time these teams met. I’m sticking with Drexel on the cover.

Drexel Dragons +1
