The Wright State Raiders need a momentum boost after a 65-62 defeat to Miami (OH) has the team looking at losses in four of five. Wright State managed only 21 first half points with the Redhawks 44.4%-41.7% edge in shooting and six more shots being decisive.
The Raiders saw the twosome of Billy Wampler and Skyelar Potter net 17 points each and combine for eight rebounds on 10-24 from the field and 7-9 at the line. Loudon Love gave Wright State eight points, four boards and three blocks on 4-7 accuracy followed by Cole Gentry with seven points, three yanks and three assists.
The Kent State Golden Flashes improved to 7-1 with a 78-67 victory versus Norfolk State as an eleven point home favorite. The Golden Flashes held a small 44.6%-43.1% edge in marksmanship with five more looks and a decisive 10-25 from beyond the arc.
Philip Whittington paced a balanced Kent State offense with 16 points and nine rebounds while Jaylin Walker added 15 points, five pulls and four assists on 5-12. The Golden Flashes received 14 points from Antonio Williams on 5-9 accuracy with Jalen Avery and CJ Williamson combining for 20 points.
