Kentucky Wildcats -12 -- O/U: 128.5
The Florida Gators and the Kentucky Wildcats meet in SEC college basketball action from Rupp Arena on Saturday afternoon.
The Florida Gators will look to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 79-78 overtime loss to LSU last time out. Jalen Hudson led the Gators with 33 points on 11 of 20 shooting with 4 threes while Keyontae Johnson added 15 points on 6 of 9 shooting with 4 steals and a pair of blocks and Noah Locke chipped in 10 points to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Florida in the loss. Kevarrius Hayes added 8 points with a team-high 15 rebounds, 3 steals and a pair of blocks while Andrew Nembhard had a team-high 4 assists. KeVaughn Allen was held to just 4 points but still leads Florida in scoring with an average of 12.2 points per game while Hayes leads the Gators in rebounding with 6.1 rebounds per game and Nembhard leads Florida in assists with 5.1 assists per game this season. As a team, Florida is averaging 68.7 points per game on 42.2% shooting from the field, 33.8% from behind the arc and 72.4% from the foul line this season.
The Kentucky Wildcats will look to keep their momentum going after an 80-76 win over Ole Miss in their last outing. Keldon Johnson led the Wildcats with 22 points on 9 of 18 shooting with a team-high 7 rebounds while Tyler Herro came 2nd with 20 points on 8 of 12 shooting. PJ Washington added 13 points on 6 of 11 shooting with a team-high 4 assists and a pair of blocks while Ashton Hagans added 10 points to finish off the quartet of double-digit scorers for Kentucky in the win. EJ Montgomery added 6 rebounds and 4 blocks as well for UK in the victory. Washington leads Kentucky with an average of 14.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while Hagans leads the Wildcats in the assist department with 4.2 assists per game this season. As a team, Kentucky is averaging 77.2 points per game on 47.8% shooting from the field, 36% from behind the arc and 73.9% from the foul line this season.
Florida is 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games overall and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 conference games while the under is 20-8 in their last 28 road games. Kentucky is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 8-2 in their last 10 conference games. Florida is 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams at Kentucky.
Florida showed some grit after battling with LSU for the 2nd time this season, and have won their last 3 road games outright so the points hold some value here. However, Kentucky already beat the Gators in Florida by 11 points this season and have been beating teams by 17.7 points per game at home this season. The Wildcats still have an outside chance at a share of the SEC regular season title, so I’ll lay the points with the Wildcats as I think Kentucky finishes the year with a statement victory in this one.
