The St. Louis Billikens and the La Salle Explorers will meet up in college basketball activity on Saturday.

St. Louis cruises into this matchup at 11-4 on the year. Following a loss to Florida State, the Billikens have won their last three versus Appalachian State, Rhode Island and UMass.

In the win over the Minutemen, Saint Louis’ top scorer was Hasahn French on 25 points, six rebounds and one assist. The only other Billiken in double-figures was Tramline Isabell with 17 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

Over on the La Salle side, they’re just 3-11 this season. The Explorers had a three-game win streak going versus Alabama A&M, Towson and UMass, but lost their last game to VCU.

In the loss to VCU, La Salle’s Pookie Powell and Isiah Deas each scored 15 points for the Explorers, and combined for three assists and seven rebounds. Ed Croswell was the only other La Salle player in double-figures with 11 points and seven boards.

The Billikens are 35-16 ATS in their last 51 versus the Atlantic 10 and 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games. The under is 6-1 in St. Louis’ last seven Saturday games and 20-6 in their last 26 after an ATS loss.

Meanwhile, the Explorers are 4-0 ATS in their last four overall and 5-2 ATS in their last seven versus the Atlantic 10. La Salle is 4-10 ATS in their last 14 Saturday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games.

St. Louis’ last win wasn’t exactly a dominant one, but the team showcased their depth and well-rounded roster with contributions from a handful of key guys. It’s a tough and methodical way to play, and it’s working for them.

La Salle is a pretty plucky team, but I don’t think they’ll fare well in what should be a lower-scoring game. I’m going to stick with the Billikens here.
