Long Beach, California
Long Beach State 49ers -10 O/U: 142.5
The Cal Poly Mustangs and the Long Beach State 49ers will match up on the college basketball court Saturday.
Cal Poly comes into this game at 6-20 this season. The Mustangs broke a five-game losing streak last Saturday against Hawaii 88-80, but fell in their last game Thursday versus CSUF 86-75.
In the loss to the Titans, Cal Poly guard Donovan Fields led the team with 22 points, two rebounds and two assists. Marcellus Garrick added 18 points for the Mustangs there, and Job Alexander managed 15 points with eight boards.
Over on the Long Beach State side, they’re 12-18 this season. The 49ers have won their last three straight games, beating CSUN, UC Riverside and UCSB in that span of outings.
In the win over the Gauchos, Long Beach State’s top scorer was Deishuan Booker with 26 points, four assists and three boards. Jordan Roberts added 16 points for the Niners in that one and Bryan Alberts had 15 points.
The Mustangs are 13-35-3 ATS in their last 51 overall and 17-47-1 ATS in their last 65 Saturday games. Cal Poly is also 6-18-3 ATS in their last 27 road games and 12-39-2 ATS in their last 53 versus the Big West.
Meanwhile, the Niners are 4-0 ATS in their last four Saturday games and 5-1 ATS in their last six overall. LBSU is 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 5-1 ATS in their last five versus the Big West.
During Cal Poly’s losing streak, they were putting up some pretty lousy points totals. The Mustangs hit a high of 68 points (against LBSU) and tallied 54 or less in three of those five.
Long Beach State has been on the road a lot lately, but when they are at home they’re scoring well these days, routinely over 70 points. I’m going to stick with the 49ers on the cover here.
