West college basketball pits the Cal State Northridge Matadors against the Long Beach State 49ers.

The Cal State Northridge Matadors hope to get back in the win column after dropping a 78-70 decision to visiting Cal State Fullerton. The Cal State Northridge Matadors have been fading with losses in six of eight which has dropped the team to the bottom half of the Big West.

Lamine Diane kept the Matadors alive with 25 points and 17 rebounds with Terrell Gomez tossing in 18 points and posting five pulls.

Cal State Northridge saw 12 points, seven boards and five helpers from Darius Brown II followed Cameron Gottfried with seven points and three yanks.

Long Beach State 49ers fell to 9-18 on the season after a 77-73 loss at UC Davis on Saturday night as a 5.5 point road dog.

Long Beach State has dropped eight of nine and are 7thin the Big West with a season ending hot streak and help needed to move up the standings.

Deishuan Booker was the top 49ers option with 20 points and four pulls with Jordan Griffin adding 19 points and six boards.

Mason Riggins gave Long Beach State another 12 points and eleven rebounds while Edon Maxhuni and Temidayo Yussuf netted ten points apiece.
