Long Beach State 49ers -4.5 O/U: 136
The UC Davis Aggies and the Long Beach State 49ers will meet up in college basketball action on Saturday.
UC Davis stumbles into this matchup at 4-11 on the year. The Aggies have lost four of their last five games, beating Holy Names and falling to Arizona, LMU, USC and UC Irvine in that span.
In the loss to the Anteaters, UC Davis’ top scorer was TJ Shorts, who doubled up on 21 points, 10 rebounds and two assists. Joe Mooney added 14 points and five rebounds for the Aggies, and Matt Neufeld scored 11 points.
Over on the Long Beach State side, they’re 6-10 this year. After a span of five games where they lost three, the 49ers came away with a blowout win over Bethesda in their last game this past Saturday.
In the win over Bethesda, LBSU’s Bryan Alberts led the way on 35 points, three rebounds and one assist. Edon Maxhuni also had a great line for the 49ers with his 21 points, three assists and four rebounds.
UC Davis is 4-9 ATS in their last 13 overall and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games following an ATS win. The Aggies are 2-6 ATS in their last eight following a straight-up loss and the under is 11-4 in their last 15 overall.
Meanwhile, the 49ers are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 versus the Big West. LBSU is 1-3-1 ATS in their last five overall and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six following a straight-up win.
UC Davis could have gotten a much-needed victory versus the Anteaters, but faded in overtime for another frustrating defeat. Offensively, the Aggies just aren’t potent enough to compete with most of their peers.
I don’t think Long Beach State has enough firepower for an outright blowout here, but they’ve definitely got the talent to cover, so I’m going 49ers in this one.
