The Line: Liberty -2.5 -- Over/Under: 137
The Lipscomb Bisons and Liberty Flames meet Tuesday in college basketball action at the Vines Center.
The Lipscomb Bisons look for another victory to build on their seven-game winning streak. The Lipscomb Bisons are averaging 82.5 points on 47.4 percent shooting and allowing 70.9 points on 41.4 percent shooting. Garrison Mathews is averaging 18.8 points and 5.3 rebounds while Rob Marberry is averaging 15.9 points and 2.4 assists. Kenny Cooper is dishing 4.2 assists and Eli Pepper is grabbing 7.3 rebounds. The Lipscomb Bisons are shooting 36.5 percent from beyond the arc and 75.4 percent from the free throw line. The Lipscomb Bisons are allowing 32.5 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 34.1 rebounds per game. The Lipscomb Bisons have split their last six road games.
The Liberty Flames look for another victory to build on their eight-game winning streak. The Liberty Flames are averaging 73.5 points on 49.1 percent shooting and allowing 61.3 points on 42.2 percent shooting. Scottie James is averaging 12.4 points and 8.4 rebounds while Caleb Homesley is averaging 11.5 points and 2.6 assists. Lovell Cabbil Jr. is the third double-digit scorer and Darius McGhee is grabbing three rebounds. The Liberty Flames are shooting 39 percent from beyond the arc and 77.1 percent from the free throw line. The Liberty Flames are allowing 31.3 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 29 rebounds per game. The Liberty Flames have won all 10 home games this season.
The Bison are 23-7-1 ATS in their last 31 road games, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 vs. Atlantic Sun and 34-16-1 ATS in their last 51 games overall. The Flames are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Tuesday games and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games. The under is 6-0 in Flames last 6 overall. The under is 5-2 in Bison last 7 overall. The under is 5-1 in Bison last 6 road games.
Both of these teams are playing well enough basketball to where you can make a strong case to just side with the free bucket, especially when you factor in that the Lipscomb Bisons are 8-2 ATS on the road this season. With that said, the Liberty Flames are one of the more balanced teams in the country and do some of their best work at home where they're allowing just 38 percent shooting and winning by an average of 20.7 points. In its last five games, Liberty is allowing just 37.7 percent shooting and winning by an average of 15.6 points. The Lipscomb Bisons are playing their best ball of the season, but I'm not trying to step in front of Liberty right now.
