Saturday college basketball action pits the Arkansas State Red Wolves against the UL Monroe Warhawks.
The surging Arkansas State Red Wolves have won four of five after downing UL Lafayette 94-83 as an eleven point road dog on Thursday. Arkansas State led by six points heading to the intermission and pulled away late behind 50% marksmanship.
Marquis Eaton was key to the Red Wolves success with 24 points and five pulls with Grantham Gillard adding 20 points and seven rebounds.
Ty Cockfield gave ASU 18 points, six boards and five helpers along with eight turnovers followed by Salif Boudie with 12 points and eleven rebounds.
The Arkansas Little Rock Trojans have been playing well but they could not get stops Thursday in a 97-84 loss at UL Monroe. UL Monroe took a nine point lead at the halfway point and rode 55.6% shooting and 18 forced turnovers.
Daishon Smith was the Warhawks star with a 42 point explosion that featured ten long balls while Michael Ertel added 16 points and six helpers.
ULM saw 13 points from JD Williams with Travis Munnings and Tyree White combining for another 17 points.
