Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks -4 O/U: 154.5
The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns and the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks will match up in college basketball action on Saturday.
Louisiana comes in here at 11-6 on the year. The Cajuns are just 2-2 in the last four games however, falling to Arkansas State and Georgia State with wins over Little Rock and Georgia Southern in that span.
In the win over the Eagles, Louisiana’s top scorer was Jakeenan Gant with 22 points, 12 rebounds and five assists. Jerekius Davis added 17 points for the Cajuns, while Marcus Stromana and PJ Hardy each registered 12 points.
Over on the UL-Monroe side, they’re sitting at 9-7 this season. Following consecutive wins over Little Rock and Arkansas State, the Warhawks have dropped their last pair versus Georgia Southern and Georgia State.
In the loss to the Panthers, LA-Monroe’s top dog was JD Williams with 19 points, seven rebounds and one assist. Travis Munnings doubled up for the Warhawks with 11 points and 13 rebounds while Michael Ertel logged 18 points.
Louisiana is 20-9-1 ATS in their last 30 versus the Sun Belt and 2-5 ATS in their last seven Saturday games. The Cajuns are 3-14 ATS in their last 17 following a straight-up win and 1-10 ATS in their last 11 following an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Warhawks are 5-0 ATS in their last five overall and 4-0 ATS in their last four versus the Sun Belt. LA-Monroe is 6-2 ATS in the last eight Saturday games and 4-0 ATS in their last four after an ATS win.
Louisiana was drilling through lesser teams early in the schedule, but seems to be getting bogged down a bit with the matchups against the bigger schools. The Cajuns just couldn’t keep up with the likes of Georgia State and Arkansas State.
LA-Monroe seems better equipped for tasks like that (not necessarily winning, but keeping it close at least), and it’s showing up in the final scores—not to mention the ATS trends. I’m going to stick with the Warhawks on the cover here.
