Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks -5.5 O/U: 155
The Troy Trojans and the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks will meet up in college basketball action on Thursday.
Troy comes into this matchup sitting at 10-8 on the year. The Trojans are 2-1 in their last three games, falling to Georgia Southern and bagging wins versus Arkansas State and Georgia State.
In the win over the Panthers, Troy’s Jordon Varnado went off for 32 points, nine rebounds and three assists. The only other Trojan in double-figures there was Charles Norman with 15 points for the night.
Over on the Louisiana-Monroe side, they’re 10-7 this season. The Warhawks had lost consecutive games by one point versus GA Southern and Georgia State, but got a win Saturday versus the Ragin’ Cajuns.
In the victory versus Louisiana, the Warhawks’ Daishon Smith led the way on 27 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. Michael Ertel had a great night as well for UL-Monroe on 23 points, two rebounds and two assists.
The Trojans are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall. Troy is 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus the Sun Belt and 9-26-1 ATS in their last 36 Thursday games.
Meanwhile, the Warhawks are 6-0 ATS in their last six overall and 5-0 ATS in their last five versus the Sun Belt. UL-Monroe is 5-1 ATS in their last six home games and 21-8 ATS in their last 29 Thursday games.
Troy’s win over Georgia State was pretty darn exciting, and should be a nice lift for the team. The Trojans have been scoring pretty well since that 59-point dud versus Little Rock on January 9, so things are looking up.
As for the Warhawks, they’ve been putting up points as well and their losses have been very close lately. I expect this one to be a high-scoring and tight affair, and I’ll take the Trojans to eke into a road cover, as they’ve been pretty sharp away from home recently. Give me Troy.
