Louisiana Tech Bulldogs -4.5 O/U: 135
The Florida Atlantic Owls and the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will meet up on the college basketball court Wednesday in the Conference USA Tournament.
Florida Atlantic comes in here with a 17-14 mark overall. The Owls got a win over North Texas on February 28 but since have dropped to Louisiana Tech and Marshall in consecutive games.
In the loss to the Herd, Florida Atlantic’s lead scorer was Michael Forrest with 15 points and three rebounds. Xavian Stapleton (13 points; five rebounds) and Anthony Adger (12 points; five rebounds) also finished in double-figures for the Owls in that one.
Over on the Louisiana Tech side, they’re 19-12 this year. Following defeats by Marshall and FIU, the Bulldogs managed to take out Florida Atlantic 72-69 in their last appearance a week ago.
In the win over the Owls, Louisiana Tech’s top scorer was Daquan Brace with 21 points, three assists and two rebounds. Amorie Archibald added 16 points and five rebounds for the Bulldogs in that one as well.
The Owls are 5-1 ATS in their last six after an ATS loss and 4-1 ATS in their last five after a straight-up loss. Florida Atlantic is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 neutral-site games and 3-13 ATS in their last 16 Wednesday games.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs are 4-1 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 7-2 ATS in their last nine after a straight-up win. Louisiana Tech is 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall and 5-2 ATS in their last seven versus CUSA.
Florida Atlantic isn’t usually a big-scoring team this season, but they’ve really hit the wall on that front over their last half-dozen games or so. The Owls came up with just 130 combined points over their last two games.
As for the Bulldogs, they’re scoring better these days but are still prone to lapses in defense that can really hamper the team’s chances. Still, I think Louisiana Tech is in full control here and I’m going with them on the cover.
