The UTSA Roadrunners and Louisiana Tech Bulldogs meet Saturday in college basketball action at the Thomas Assembly Center.
The UTSA Roadrunners look for another victory after winning five of their last seven games. The UTSA Roadrunners are averaging 79.6 points on 43.8 percent shooting and allowing 75.3 points on 42.7 percent shooting. Jhivvan Jackson is averaging 22.7 points and 2.5 assists while Keaton Wallace is averaging 21 points and 5.2 rebounds. Nick Allen is grabbing 5.4 rebounds and Byron Frohnen is dishing 1.7 assists. The UTSA Roadrunners are shooting 35.8 percent from beyond the arc and 73.8 percent from the free throw line. The UTSA Roadrunners are allowing 31.4 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 37.4 rebounds per game. The UTSA Roadrunners have lost four of their last five road games.
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs could use a win after splitting their last 10 games. The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs are averaging 73.4 points on 44.2 percent shooting and allowing 67.7 points on 42.7 percent shooting. DaQuan Bracey is averaging 14.1 points and 4.1 assists while Anthony Duruji is averaging 12.4 points and six rebounds. Exavian Christon is the third double-digit scorer and Amorie Archibald is grabbing 4.1 rebounds. The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs are shooting 33 percent from beyond the arc and 65.1 percent from the free throw line. The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs are allowing 34.3 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 37 rebounds per game. The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have won all 13 home games this season.
The Roadrunners are 18-7 ATS in their last 25 vs. Conference USA, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games and 14-4 ATS in their last 18 games overall. The Bulldogs are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 home games, 11-4 ATS in their last 15 vs. Conference USA and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Roadrunners are 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Louisiana Tech and 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings. The under is 11-2 in Bulldogs last 13 overall. The over is 5-1 in Roadrunners last 6 overall.
Both of these teams have been extremely profitable over the course of the season, so you can make a case for either side. However, the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs have been a money printing machine at home over the years and are one of those clubs I blindly back whenever the line is reasonable. No questions asked. This season alone at home, Louisiana Tech is 13-0 SU, has covered six straight and is winning by an average of 11.5 points. The UTSA Roadrunners have had their success this season and come into this game shooting a hot basketball, but I don't bet against Louisiana Tech at home. It's that simple for me.
