NCAA BB | Texas-Arlington Mavericks (16-11) at Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (22-4)

Down at the Cajundome on Saturday, the Texas-Arlington Mavericks and the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns will be matching up on the college basketball court.

UT Arlington enters this game with a 16-11 record overall. The Mavericks had won three games in a row, but dropped their last one versus UL Monroe Thursday. In that game, UT Arlington guard Erick Neal put up 35 points.

Tops in scoring for the Mavericks is Kevin Hervey with 20.8 PPG and 8.6 RPG. Also in double-figures for UT Arlington are Neal (15.2 PPG; 7.0 APG), Kaelon Wilson (11.2 PPG) and Johnny Hamilton (10.8 PPG; 7.9 RPG).

As for Louisiana, they’re sitting at 22-4 on the year. The Cajuns have won their last two games, and took out Texas State on Thursday. In that game, Louisiana forward Bryce Washington logged 19 points.

Heading up the scoring for Louisiana this year is Frank Bartley with 17.0 PPG, and JaKeenan Grant is second with 14.8 PPG and 6.4 RPG. Also in double-figures for the Ragin’ Cajuns are Johnathan Stove (11.0 PPG) and Washington (10.9 PPG; 10.7 RPG).

The Mavericks are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games following an ATS loss and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six overall. UT Arlington is also 1-4-1 ATS in their last six versus the Sun Belt and 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games.

Meanwhile, Louisiana is 7-0-1 ATS in the last eight Saturday games and 9-1 ATS in their last 10 home games. Louisiana is also 11-2 ATS in their last 13 games overall and 16-4-1 ATS in their last 21 versus the Sun Belt.

Aside from a couple of outliers here and there (like 59 points versus Georgia Southern), UT Arlington has been scoring pretty well lately. In Louisiana’s case, they allowed a combined 197 points in two games but bounced back in their last outing with 63 allowed. The Ragin’ Cajuns won the last matchup between these two at UT Arlington 77-65, and I’m rolling with Louisiana again here.
