The Kentucky Wildcats and the Louisville Cardinals are matching up on the college basketball circuit Saturday.
Kentucky enters this one at 9-2 on the year. The Wildcats’ last loss came 84-84 to Seton Hall, but since Kentucky has taken out both Utah 88-61 and North Carolina 80-72.
In the Tar Heels game, Kentucky’s Keldon Johnson logged 21 points, three rebounds and three assists. Close behind was Reid Travis with 20 points and seven assists, while PJ Washington doubled up on 11 points and 10 rebounds with eight assists.
Over on the Louisville side, t they’re 9-3 this season. The Cardinals dropped a tough one to Indiana on December 8 but since have taken out Lipscomb, Kent State and Robert Morris.
In the Colonials game, Louisville’s high man was Jordan Nwora with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Also in double-figures for the Cards were Steven Enoch (16 points; five rebounds) and Dwayne Sutton (14 points; seven rebounds.
Kentucky is 5-1 ATS in their last six Saturday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five non-conference games. The Wildcats are 4-1 ATS in the last five overall and 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine versus the ACC.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals are 5-0-1 ATS in their last six following an ATS loss and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games. Louisville is 3-1-1 ATS in their last five following a straight-up win and 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight non-conference games.
The Seton Hall game hurts Kentucky, but the good news is that they’ve got some quality teams coming up who can help them get back on track.
As for Louisville, they’ve already got some signature wins on their schedule and despite the slightly lesser record I think they can hang around here. I’ll take the Cardinals.
