The Line: Louisville Cardinals -7 -- Over/Under:
Down at KFC Yum! Center on Monday, the Syracuse Orange and the Louisville Cardinals will be meeting up on the college basketball court.
Syracuse enters this game with a 15-8 record overall. The Orange have lost their last two outings, most recently to Virginia on Saturday. In that one, Syracuse’s Tyus Battle put up 15 points to lead the team.
Battle is also the leading Syracuse scorer on the year with 19.5 PPG. Also in double-figures for the Orange are Frank Howard (14.9 PPG) and Oshae Brissett (14.9 PPG; 5.1 APG).
As for Louisville, they’re sitting at 16-7 on the year. The Cardinals have lost three of their last four games, most recently falling to Florida State Saturday. In that game, Louisville forward Deng Adel managed 17 points.
Adel is the top scorer for the Cardinals this season, averaging 15.7 PPG with 5.0 RPG. Also in double-digits for Louisville are Quentin Snider, with 12.9 PPG and 4.1 APG, and Ray Spalding with 11.3 PPG and 9.2 RPG.
The Orange are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five road games versus a team with a winning home record. Syracuse is also 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six versus the ACC.
Meanwhile, Louisville is 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a straight-up loss and 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Cardinals are also 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 versus the ACC and 21-8-1 ATS in their last 30 Monday games.
Syracuse’s offense has been pretty dormant lately. The Orange have put up more than 60 points just once during the last five games, and logged just 95 across their last two games. Louisville hasn’t been great lately either but at least they’ve been scoring. I think the door is wide open here for a Cardinals cover.
