The Valparaiso go on the road to oppose the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers in Tuesday college basketball action.

The Valparaiso Crusaders are off to a 4-0 start after defeating Southern Illinois 65-61 on Saturday as an 8.5 point road underdog.

Valparaiso took a seven point lead in to the locker room and managed to fend off the Salukis behind 48.1% shooting that barely overcame SIU and their 38.5% accuracy and 13 extra shots.

Derrik Smits sparked the Crusaders upset with 16  points and eight rebounds while Javon Freeman added eleven points, six boards and three assists.

Valpo received ten points, three pulls and three helpers from Markus Golder followed by a combined 16 points from Deion Lavender and Jaume Sorolla.

The Loyola-Chicago Ramblers are off to a 3-1 start in the Missouri Valley after holding off Illinois State 67-64 on Saturday as a nine point home favorite.

Loyola-Chicago went in to the intermission with a six point lead and managed to keep the advantage with a 50%-47.9% shooting edge.

Marques Towns paced the Ramblers with 21 points with Cameron Krutwig tossing in 13 points and grabbing eight rebounds.

Clayton Custer gave Loyola-Chicago another 13 points, four pulls and four helpers followed by Cooper Kaifes who chipped in eight points.
