LSU Tigers -1.5 O/U: 138
The Florida Gators and the LSU Tigers will meet up on the college basketball court in the SEC Tournament Friday.
Florida comes into this one at 18-14 overall. The Gators had a three-game losing streak going versus Georgia, LSU and Kentucky but took out Arkansas in the first round of the tournament Thursday.
In the win over the Razorbacks, Florida’s top scorer was Keyontae Johnson, doubling up on 20 points and 12 rebounds. KeVaughn Allen also finished in double-figures for the Gators, bagging 17 points.
Over on the LSU side, they’re 26-5 overall this season. The Tigers are sitting on a five-game win streak, taking out Tennessee, Texas A&M, Alabama, Florida and Vanderbilt in that time.
In the victory over the Commodores, LSU’s top scorer was Darius Days with 15 points, four rebounds and two assists. Tremont Waters added 14 points and eight assists for the Tigers there, and Kavell Bigby-Williams doubled up with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The Under is 10-2 in Florida’s last 12 overall and 10-2 in their last 12 versus the SEC. Florida is 2-5-2 ATS in their last nine Friday games and the over is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings between these teams.
Meanwhile, LSU is 2-10-1 ATS in their last 13 Friday games and 16-5 ATS in their last 21 overall. The over is 13-6 in the Tigers’ last 19 overall and the favorite is 7-3-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings between these teams.
Florida was only up 30-28 at halftime in their win over Arkansas, but the Gators tightened the screws after that and finished 36-22 for a 66-50 victory that ended up pretty lopsided.
That said, LSU is on a really nice run right now. Even though the Gators hung tight in their March 6 game, I don’t think anyone can stop LSU at this point in the tournament. I’m going with the Tigers on the cover here.
