Niagara Purple Eagles (18-10) at Manhattan Jaspers (12-15)
|Date & Time||Sunday February 18, 2018, 2:00 PM (EST)|
The Line: Manhattan Jaspers -1.5 -- Over/Under:
Coming up from Draddy Gymnasium on Sunday, the Niagara Purple Eagles and the Manhattan Jaspers will be meeting up on the college basketball court.
Niagara enters this game with a 18-10 record overall. The Eagles have won their last four straight games, taking out Iona on Friday. In that most recent game, Niagara guard James Towns put up 20 points.
Niagara’s leading scorer this year is Kahlil Dukes with 20.8 PPG and 3.3 APG to his credit. Also in double-figures for the Eagles are Matt Scott (19.5 PPG; 7.4 RPG) and Marvin Prochet (10.0 PPG; 7.7 RPG).
Over on the Jaspers’ side, they’re sitting at 12-15 on the year. Manhattan has lost two of their last three games, falling Thursday to Quinnipiac. In that one, Jaspers guard Rich Williams put up 29 points.
Williams also leads Manhattan on the year with 14.2 PPG and 4.4 RPG. The only other Jaspers player in double-figures this year is Zane Waterman (11.8 PPG; 6.7 RPG) but Zavier Turner is close on 9.9 PPG.
Niagara is 4-0 ATS in the last four overall and 4-0 ATS in the last four versus the Metro Atlantic Athletic. The Eagles are also 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Jaspers are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games versus a team with a winning road record and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 following a straight-up loss. Manhattan is also 2-6 ATS in their last eight Sunday games and the under is 18-7-1 in their last 27 overall.
Niagara has looked pretty good over their win streak. Since putting up just 52 points versus Saint Peter’s, the Eagles have managed at least 85 in each of their last four. Having Scott banged up (he came out with an ankle injury in the Iona game) is a definite blow, however. As such, and with the Jaspers scoring fairly well over their last three, I’ll take Manhattan here.
