The Line: Marist Red Foxes -4 -- Over/Under: 133.5
The Canisius Golden Griffins and the Marist Red Foxes will match up on the college basketball circuit Thursday.
Canisius comes in here at 3-8 on the year. The Griffins had won consecutive games versus Robert Morris and Elon, but then dropped their latest pair to Holy Cross and Buffalo.
In the Bulls matchup, the Griffins were led by Takeal Molson, who put up 15 points, six rebounds and four assists. Isaiah Reese and Malik Johnson each scored 13, combining for 13 rebounds and seven assists there.
Over on the Marist side, they’re 5-7 this season. The Red Foxes are 1-3 in their last four games, beating New Hampshire and falling to Colgate, Brown and Hartford in that quartet of appearances.
In the Hawks game, Marist’s Brian Parker was the only player on the team in double-figures, with 16 points, three rebounds and three assists. David Knudsen did get close for the Foxes with nine points and three boards.
The Griffins are 5-1 ATS in their last six versus the MAA and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 Thursday games. Canisius is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 overall and 1-7 ATS in their last eight following an ATS loss.
Meanwhile, the Foxes are 6-2 ATS in the last eight Thursday games and 1-4 ATS in the last five overall. Marist is 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the MAA and the under is 7-2 in their last nine overall.
Canisius stumbled out of the gate looking pretty bad, but they’re playing better lately and were fairly competitive versus Buffalo—even though they were grossly overmatched.
As for Marist, they’ve been laying eggs on the scoreboard lately, and haven’t topped 58 points in any of their last three outings.
This is actually a pretty interesting matchup, and I like Canisius to gain a little momentum here.
