MAAC college basketball gives us the Manhattan Jaspers visiting the Marist Red Foxes.

The Manhattan Jaspers evened their conference record at 1-1 with a 90-80 shootout victory against visiting Niagara as a three point home dog on Saturday.

Manhattan broke loose with a 54 point second half to overcome an eleven point deficit behind 63% marksmanship including 13-22 from beyond the arc.

Samir Stewart paced the Jaspers offensive parade with 22 points and four helpers followed by Tyler Reynolds and Pauly Paulicap with ten points each.

Manhattan received another nine points from Ebube Ebube while Warren Williams chipped in with eight points and committed a team high six turnovers.

The Marist Red Foxes fell to 0-1 in the MAAC with a narrow 76-72 loss to visiting Canisius as a 1.5 point favorite on Thursday night.

Marist shot the ball well enough at 46% but the Golden Griffins prevailed with 41% accuracy because of 16 offensive rebounds leading to eleven more shots.

Isaiah Lamb was the top Red Foxes threat with 21 points and nine rebounds while Brian Parker added 19 and three helpers.

Marist received ten points and three pulls from Ryan Funk followed by Darius Hines and Aleksandar Dozic with a combined 13 points.

Manhattan are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 road games and Manhattan are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 Tuesday games and under is 39-18-2 in Manhattan last 59 overall. Under is 9-3-1 in Marist last 13 Tuesday games and under is 7-3 in Marist last 10 overall. Under is 12-5 in the last 17 meetings.

The Red Foxes are the better team but I’d rather take the points or find another game to bet…

Pick:
Manhattan +8

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
