As a team, Kansas State is averaging 73 points per game on 45.6% shooting from the field, 28.7% from behind the arc and 65.8% from the foul line this season.
The Marquette Golden Eagles will look to build on back-to-back wins, including a 76-55 win over Charleston Southern in their last outing. Markus Howard led the Golden Eagles with 17 points on 6 of 16 shooting with 5 threes, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Joseph Chartouny added 13 points with a team-high 6 assists and a whopping 7 steals while Sam Hauser added 3 threes as part of his 12-point night with 5 assists. As a team, Marquette is scoring 75.3 points per game on 43.9% shooting from the field, 37.2% from behind the arc and 77.8% from the foul line this season.
Kansas State is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 7-3 in their last 10 games overall. Marquette is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 non-conference games.
Marquette has been solid once again to start the year, including going unbeaten in their first 4 home games this season. This will be a tough test for Kansas State in what’ll be their first true road game, however I’m siding with the Wildcats here. Marquette has been better offensively over the years, but they’re only outscoring K-State by 2.3 points per game this year, and the difference for me is that Kansas State is a much better team defensively than the Golden Eagles are. I’ll take the free bucket with Kansas State in a game I see the Wildcats winning outright.
