Marshall Thundering Herd -4 O/U: 153.5
The UAB Blazers and the Marshall Thundering Herd will meet up on the college basketball court Thursday.
UAB enters this game with a 14-11 mark on the year. The Blazers have dropped their last four straight games, falling to Middle Tennessee twice, Old Dominion and Charlotte in that span.
In the loss to the Niners, UAB’s Lewis Sullivan led the team on 15 points with seven rebounds. Makhtar Gueye doubled up on 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Blazers there, and Tyreek Scott-Grayson managed 12 points and nine boards.
Over on the Marshall side, they’re 13-12 on the year. The Thundering Herd is sitting on a three-game losing streak right now, falling to UTSA, North Texas and Rice in that time.
In the loss to Rice, Marshall’s top scorer was CJ Burks, with 24 points and six rebounds. Also in double-figures for the Herd in that one were Jannson Williams (14 points; 12 rebounds) and Jon Elmore (13 points; eight rebounds; seven assists).
UAB is 9-25-1 ATS in their last 35 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five after a straight-up loss. The Blazers are 1-4 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss and 0-4-1 ATS in their last five overall.
Meanwhile, the Herd are 1-5-1 ATS in the last seven home games and 1-10 ATS in their last 11 versus CUSA. Marshall is 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 overall and 0-7 ATS in their last seven after an ATS loss.
During this losing streak, UAB has notched over 65 points just once, and given up at least 70 in three of the four games. It’s a pretty dubious run, but not one that’s unfamiliar to the Blazers this year.
That said, Marshall has performed even less reliably lately, with 69 points or fewer in three of their last five outings and a paltry 51 points in two of five. This is going to be a pretty even matchup, and I think the Blazers can at least get close here.
