The Florida A&M Rattlers and the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks meet in college basketball action from Hytche Athletic Center on Monday.
Florida A&M enters this game at 10-13 so far. The Rattlers are on a four-game winning streak right now, taking out Bethune-Cookman, Howard, NC A&T and Delaware State in that time.
in the 2OT win over the Hornets, Florida A&M’s lead scorer was Nasir Core with 29 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Rod Melton added 23 points and six rebounds, and Bryce Moragne doubled up on 12 points and 12 boards.
Over on the Maryland Eastern Shore side, they’re 4-21 this year. The Hawks are 2-2 in the last four games, falling to Morgan State and Coppin State while otherwise beating Delaware State and Bethune-Cookman.
In the win over the Wildcats, Maryland Eastern Shore’s AJ Cheeseman had 17 points with five reboudns, and Ahmad Frost added 15 points with five rebounds and three assists. Both Da’Shawn Phillip and Walter Prevost added 10 points apiece there too.
The Hawks are 6-1 ATS in their last seven Monday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five home games. Maryland Eastern Shore is 5-0 ATS in their last five overall and the under is 45-22-2 in their last 69 overall.
Meanwhile, the Rattlers are 6-2 ATS in their last eight Monday games and 8-2 ATS in the last 10 after an ATS loss. Florida A&M is 0-6 ATS in their last six road games and the over is 5-0 in their last five road games.
The Rattlers are on a nice run right now in the four games since their blowout loss to Norfolk State (95-67) and have scored at least 73 point in each game of that quartet. Florida A&M seems pretty comfortable in these higher-scoring games right now.
As for the Hawks, they’re more of a methodical defensive team, so whoever can control the pace of this game will have a huge advantage here. I’m more inclined to think that will be the Rattlers, so I’m leaning that way.
