The Maryland E. Shore Hawks battle the South Carolina State Bulldogs in the first round of the MEAC college basketball tourney.

The South Carolina State Bulldogs dropped four in a row to end the season following a 90-87 loss to visiting Savannah State as a 4.5 point favorite.

Jahmari Etienne kept the Bulldogs in contention with a contest high 26 points with Ozante Fields tossing in 19 points with six boards.

Lavar Harewood gave South Carolina State another 12 points followed by Ian Kinard and Damni Applewhite with a combined 18 points with Applewhite grabbing seven rebounds.

The Maryland-E. Shore Hawks were playing their best basketball to close their schedule with three straight wins after downing Delaware State 70-64.

Isaac Taylor starred for the Hawks with 17 points and eleven rebounds while Ahmad Frost tossed in another 17 points with six boards.

SCSU received 12 points, four pulls and seven helpers from Bryan Urrutia followed by Ryan Andino who contributed seven points.

South Carolina State Bulldogs are 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 Tuesday games and  are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games overall and  are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 vs. Mid-Eastern Athletic.

UMES Hawks are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and  are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Mid-Eastern Athletic and  are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 Tuesday games.

Just about everything these teams do is close so the points look inviting in another close matchup...
