The #16 Maryland Terrapins battle the Illinois Fighting Illini in a Saturday college basketball tilt.

The Illinois Fighting Illini fell to 1-5 in the Big Ten following a 72-60 loss versus Wisconsin on Wednesday as a 4.5 point home dog.

Illinois was poised for the upset with a two point lead at the intermission but couldn’t get enough second half stops Wisconsin holding a 51.1%-35.5% shooting edge.

Giorgi Bezhanishvilli kept the Fighting Illini competitive for awhile with20 points and eight rebounds with Aaron Jordan adding ten points and seven boards.

Trent Frazier gave Illinois nine points followed by Ayo Dosunmu and Andres Feliz tossing in eight points and six points respectively.

The surging Maryland Terrapins suffered their first conference loss in a 69-55 defeat to #5 Michigan State as an 8.5 point road dog on Monday.

Maryland never got their offense untracked with 20 first half points and 34.4% marksmanship and only seven trips to the charity stripe.

Aaron Wiggins paced the Terrapins with 15 points and five boards followed by Bruno Fernando with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Darryl Morsell gave the Terps another ten points while Anthony Cowan and Jalen Smith contributed seven and six points respectively.

Illinois Fighting Illini are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games overall and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 neutral site games.
