The Ohio State Buckeyes snapped their 2-game losing streak and dropped to 17-9 (7-8 Big Ten) on the season after defeating the Northwestern Wildcats, 63-49, this past Wednesday. Ohio State was outstanding on the defensive end agianst the Wildcats and pulled away in the 2nd half after a 12-2 Buckeyes run gave Ohio State a 54-40 lead with 7:07 in regulation. Ohio State shot 46.3% from the field while holding Northwestern to just 31.6% shooting from the field and 17.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Buckeyes was Kaleb Wesson who had 22 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, and a steal.

On the season, Ohio State is averaging 70.3 ppg on 45.1% shooting from the field. The Buckeyes are averaging 7.3 three-pointers per game on 35.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Ohio State has been led by Kaleb Wesson (14.7 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.0 spg), C.J. The 24th ranked Maryland Terrapins improved to 20-7 (11-5 Big Ten) on the season after defeating the 21st ranked Iowa Hawkeyes, 66-65, this past Tuesday. Maryland allowed Iowa to fight back and take a late lead after being up by a 57-46 margin with 5:59 left in regulation, however, the Terrapins were able to pick up the big road victory after Bruno Fernando put back with 7.8 seconds left gave Maryland the lead for good. Maryland held Iowa to just 32.8% from the field and outrebounded the Hawkeyes by a 40-34 margin in the victory. Leading the way for the Terrapins was Anthony Cowan Jr. who had 17 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assits, 1 block, and a steal.

Ohio State has won 4 of their last 6 games and currently rank 246th in scoring offense, T-23rd in scoring defense, and 34th in defensive FG%.

Maryland has won 3 of their last 4 games and currently rank 184th in scoring offense, 32nd in scoring defense, and 2nd in rebound margin.

Ohio State has struggled in conference play, which includes a 75-61 loss to Maryland at home earlier this season and between the fact that Maryland is 13-2 at home and that they should have a huge advantage on the boards, I’m taking Maryland to cover this mid-range home spread. Good Luck!

Pick:
Maryland Terrapins -7.5
