Wofford at Mercer
|Date & Time||Thursday January 31, 2019, 7:00 PM (EST)|
Mercer Bears +7
The Wofford Terriers and the Mercer Bears will match up on the college basketball court Thursday.
Wofford currently sits at 17-4 on the year. The Terriers are currently on an eight-game win streak, taking out WCU, the Citadel, Mercer, UNCG, VMI, Furman, Samford and Chattanooga in that time.
In the win over the Mocs, Wofford’s lead scorer was Fletcher Magee on 24 points, four rebounds and two assists. Cameron Jackson doubled up for the Terriers in that one with 16 points and 13 rebounds, and Keve Aluma added 13 points with five rebounds.
Over on the Mercer side, they’re 8-13 this season. Across the last five games, Mercer has dropped to ETSU and Chattanooga, then beaten Samford and VMI before falling again to UNCG.
In the loss to the Spartans, Mercer was led by Jaylen Stowe with 16 points, five rebounds and two assists. Ross Cummings, Ethan Stair and Djordje Dimitrijevic each logged 14 points for the Bears in that 88-81 defeat.
The Terriers are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 after an ATS loss and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games. Wofford is 0-4 ATS in their last four after a straight-up win and 0-4 ATS in their last four overall.
Meanwhile, the Bears are 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and 4-1 ATS in the last five versus the Southern. Mercer is 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven Thursday games.
Wofford is on a pretty nice run lately, and their only sub-70-points outing across their last eight was in a 59-54 victory over Furman.
The last time these two teams met, Wofford eked out a 78-74 home victory, so this one should be a pretty tight and fun game to watch as well. The Bears have given some pretty nice scoring performances lately, but with the roll the Terriers are on I’m going to stick with Wofford here.
