The North Carolina Tar Heels and the Miami Hurricanes will match up in college basketball activity on Saturday.

The Tar Heels roll into this one at 13-4 on the year. Since falling to Kentucky on December 22, North Carolina has one loss (Louisville) and wins over Davidson, Harvard, Pitt, NC State and Notre Dame.

In the win over the Irish, North Carolina’s Coby White was the team’s top scorer on 17 points, five rebounds and one assist. Luke Maye registered a double-double for the Tar Heels there, with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Over on the Miami side, they’re 9-7 this season. The Hurricanes had a three-game losing skid going versus NC State, Louisville and Florida State, but got a win in their last appearance over Wake Forest.

In the win over the Deacons, Miami’s Chris Lykes topped the squad on 25 points, four assists and two rebounds. Doubling up in that one was Ebuka Izundu, with 11 points, 11 rebounds and three assists for the ‘Canes.

The Tar Heels are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games and the under is 7-0 in their last seven overall. The under is 4-0 in North Carolina’s last four versus the ACC and 4-0 in their last four Saturday games.

Meanwhile, the Hurricanes are 5-12 ATS in the last 17 versus the ACC and 12-30 ATS in their last 42 home games. Miami is 3-9 ATS in their last 12 overall and 2-7 ATS in their last nine Saturday games.

Well, there’s really no way around it; that 83-62 home loss to Louisville sticks out like a proverbial sore thumb when you look at North Carolina’s record. Still, everyone can have a bad night I suppose, and the Tar Heels did bounce back with a nice win over a solid Notre Dame squad.

As for Miami, they’re competitive in most of their games, but they’ve had some bad nights of their own, especially earlier in the season.

North Carolina’s not a sure thing here, but I feel more comfortable with the Tar Heels’ consistency than I do Miami’s. I’m going NC.

North Carolina Tar Heels -6
