The Pittsburgh Panthers and the Miami Hurricanes meet in ACC college basketball action from the Watsco Center on Tuesday night.

The Pittsburgh Panthers are in dire need of a confidence-building win to snap a 12-game losing skid after a 73-49 loss to Virginia last time out. Jared Wilson-Frame led the Panthers with 15 points on 5 of 11 shooting with 3 threes, 5 rebounds and 4 assists while Au’Diese Toney added 12 points with a team-high 7 rebounds as the only other Pitt player to score in double figures in the losing effort. Xavier Johnson added 4 assists and a pair of steals of his own as well in the loss. Johnson still leads Pittsburgh with an average of 16 points and 4.5 assists per game while Toney leads the Panthers on the glass with 5.8 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Pittsburgh is averaging 70.6 points per game on 42% shooting from the field, 32.4% from behind the 3-point line and 70.1% from the foul line this season.

The Miami Hurricanes will look to rebound from back-to-back losses after an 87-57 loss to Duke in their last outing. Ebuka Izundu and Anthony Lawrence II led the Hurricanes with 15 points as the lone pair of double-digit scorers for Miami in the loss, with Izundu shooting 6 of 7 with a team-high 9 rebounds and 4 steals while Lawrence II shot 6 of 11 with 3 assists and a pair of steals. Chris Lykes was held to 4 points on a brutal 1 of 15 shooting, but still leads Miami with an average of 16.5 points and 3.1 assists per game while Izundu leads the Hurricanes in rebounding with 8.6 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Miami is averaging 72 points per game on 43.6% shooting from the field, 33.7% from behind the arc and 73.5% from the foul line this season.

Pittsburgh is 0-7 ATS in their last 7 road games and 0-11-1 ATS in their last 12 games overall while the under is 36-15 in their last 51 games following a loss. Miami is 8-19 ATS in their last 27 home games and 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 14-6 in their last 20 games following a loss. Pittsburgh is 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these two teams.

Miami isn’t a team that I’m going out and trying to lay points with, but the fact is that siding with Pittsburgh in any facet simply isn’t an option. During this 12-game losing skid, the Panthers haven’t covered once. You’ve made a killing if you have faded Pittsburgh during this losing streak and I just don’t see it ending any time soon, so I’ll lay the points with Miami in this one.

Miami-Florida -5.5
