The Evansville Purple Aces battle the Miami (OH) Redhawks in Sunday college basketball action.
The Miami (OH) Redhawks have been playing well with wins in four of five after downing South Carolina State Bulldogs as a 16.5 point home favorite. Miami (OH) jumped to a 23 point lead at the break behind a 43.3%-37.2% edge in marksmanship and 24 extra shots.
The Redhawks leaned on Nike Sibande and he responded with a contest high 24 points and six boards on 9-16 accuracy incl(uding four long balls while Jalen Adaway added 18 points and seven rebounds on 8-11 from the floor. Dalonte Brown gave Miami (OH) eleven points and four pulls on 4-10 shooting followed by a nine point, six board effort from Bam Bowman.
The Evansville Purple Aces avoided a three game skid with an 80-75 victory against visiting Green Bay as a 4.5 point favorite. Evansville won the shooting battle 43.9%-40.3% and held a 24-12 advantage at the stripe to negate ten more Phoenix shots.
KJ Riley carried the Purple Aces offense pouring in a game high 24 points with seven boards on 6-14 from the floor and 12-14 at the line followed by Marty Hill with 12 points and six boards on 5-12. Evansville received nine points each from Dainius Chatkevicius and Noah Frederking while Evan Kuhlman and Shamar Givance tossed in eight points apiece.
