The NC State Wolfpack and the Miami Hurricanes meet in ACC conference college basketball action from the Watsco Center on Thursday night.

The NC State Wolfpack will look to build on their current 6-game winning streak after a 97-64 win over Loyola-Maryland in their last outing. Torin Dorn led the Wolfpack with 17 points on 7 of 14 shooting with a team-high 8 rebounds while Jericole Helms came right behind with 16 points and 4 assists. C.J. Bryce and Braxton Beverly each had 13 points with Bryce adding 3 steals and 3 blocks on 6 of 8 shooting while Beverly shot 5 of 7 with 3 triples. DJ Funderburk added 10 points on 5 of 6 shooting with 3 blocks to round out the scoring in double figures for NC State in the win. Wyatt Walker added 9 points with 4 blocks while Devon Daniels chipped in 9 points and a team-high 7 assists in the victory. Dorn leads NC State with an average of 15.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while Markell Johnson leads the Wolfpack in the assists department with 4.2 assists per game this season. As a team, NC State is averaging the 7th-most points per game in D-I, scoring 89.4 points per game while boasting the 3rd-best field goal percentage in the country, shooting 52.6% from the field and 41.4% from behind the 3-point line, the 7th-best 3-point percentage in the nation. NC State is also shooting 68.5% from the foul line this season.

The Miami Hurricanes will look to build on their current 3-game winning streak after picking up a 73-62 win over Campbell in their last outing. Zach Johnson led the ‘Canes with 22 points on 5 of 6 shooting from behind the arc and a 7 of 9 mark from the foul line while Chris Lykes chipped in 21 points on 7 of 12 shooting with 4 triples and a pair of steals. Anthony Lawrence II had 11 points and a team-high 8 rebounds while Dejan Vasiljevic added 10 points to finish off the scoring in double figures for the Hurricanes in the winning effort. Ebuka Izundu added 4 points and a team-high 8 rebounds as well in the victory. Lykes leads Miami with an average of 16.6 points and 3.8 assists per game while Izundu leads Miami on the glass with 9.2 rebounds per game this season. As a team, Miami is averaging 77.6 points per game on 46.7% shooting from the field, 35.6% from behind the arc and 71.7% from the foul line this season.

NC State is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 road games. Miami is 7-19 ATS in their last 26 games overall and 11-29 ATS in their last 40 home games while the over is 15-5 in their last 20 games against a team with a winning record. The road team is 9-4-2 ATS in the last 15 meetings between these two teams.

A home dog is always a tempting proposition, but I think NC State being favored on the road goes to speak to a couple of things. First, home court hasn’t really mattered for Miami, both in this matchup and overall as the Hurricanes have had issues covering at home for a couple of seasons now and the road team has covered or pushed in 11 of the last 15 meetings between the two teams. NC State lost their only true road game so far this season, but it was a nailbiting 4-point loss to Wisconsin. I have the Badgers on a completely different tier than Miami right now, and as such, I think the Wolfpack ride their dynamic offense to a road win and cover in this one.

NC State -4
