Duke Blue Devils -2 O/U: 150
The Michigan State Spartans and the Duke Blue Devils will match up in the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday.
Michigan State’s journey through this tournament has led to victories over Bradley, Minnesota and LSU (not to mention a conference championship victory over Michigan 65-60).
In the win over the Tigers on Friday, Michigan State’s lead scorer was Aaron Henry, who pulled in 20 points, six assists and eight rebounds. Cassius Winston added 17 points and eight assists while Kenny Goins corralled 11 boards.
Over on the Duke side, they’re in the Elite Eight thanks to victories over ND State 85-62, UCF 77-76 and Virginia Tech 73-75. (Duke also won their conference tournament over Florida State).
As for the Hokies game, Duke’s Zion Williamson led the way on 23 points, six rebounds and one assist. Tre Jones was right there with 22 points and eight helpers while RJ Barrett doubled up on 18 points and 11 assists.
The Spartans are 4-1 ATS in their last five Sunday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five neutral-site games. Michigan State is 25-9 ATS in their last 39 overall and 13-5 ATS in their last 28 after an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Devils are 1-4-1 ATS in the last six neutral-site games and 1-6-1 ATS in the last eight overall. Duke is 1-10 ATS in their last 11 after a straight-up win and 0-5 ATS in the last five NCAA Tournament games.
Michigan State looked like a juggernaut against a good LSU team, taking the first half 40-28 and the second 40-35 in a nice run of dominance. The Spartans haven’t had much trouble with anyone in the NCAA Tournament so far, but that should change here.
Given that Duke has had some real squeakers over the past couple of games, I’m not as high on them as I should be. I’m going Spartans here.
