The Line: Michigan State Spartans -10 -- Over/Under: 156.5
The Iowa Hawkeyes and the Michigan State Spartans will meet up on the college basketball court Monday.
Iowa rolls into this one at 6-1 on the season, After kicking off the early with a half-dozen straight victories over UMKC, Green Bay, Oregon, UConn, AL State and Pitt, the Hawkeyes fell to Wisconsin.
In the Badgers game, Iowa’s Tyler Cook led the charge with his 19 points, 12 rebounds and four assists in a double-double effort. Jordan Bohanan and Luka Garza each provided 11 points for the Hawkeyes with two assists and seven boards between them.
Over on the Michigan State side, they’re sitting at 6-2 this year. The Spartans have fallen to Kansas and Louisville this season but otherwise taken out FGCU, LA-Monroe, TN Tech, UCLA, Texas and Rutgers.
In the Rutgers game, the Spartans’ lead scorer was Cassius Winston with 22 points, six assists. Nick Ward would add 20 points and five rebounds, and Joshua Langford chipped in 14.
Iowa is 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall and 8-22-1 ATS in their last 31 road games. The Hawkeyes are 2-6 ATS in their last eight following an ATS loss and 1-4 ATS in their last five following a straight-up loss.
Meanwhile, the Spartans are 6-0 ATS in their last six Monday games and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. Michigan State is 2-5 ATS in their las seven following an ATS win and 3-8-2 ATS in their last 13 versus the Big Ten.
Iowa didn’t have a whole lot of trouble with any team until Pitt, and they were competitive against Wisconsin—but really should have won that game if not for a bad second half.
As for the Spartans, they’re a pretty well-rounded group but have been a little inconsistent here and there. I think Iowa can give State some trouble, so I’m going Hawkeyes on the cover here.
