East Lansing, Michigan
Michigan State Spartans -9.5 O/U: 150
The Maryland Terrapins and the Michigan State Spartans will meet up on the college basketball court Monday.
Maryland rolls into this matchup at 16-3 on the year. The Terrapins have won their last seven straight games, taking out Radford, Nebraska, Rutgers, Minnesota, Indiana, Wisconsin and Ohio State.
In the win over the Buckeyes, Maryland’s Anthony Cowan topped the team with 20 points, six assists and four rebounds. Bruno Fernando doubled up for the Terrapins in that one with 13 points, 15 rebounds and four assists.
Over on the Michigan State side, they’re currently 16-2 this season. The Spartans are sitting on an 11-game win streak, and they’ve taken out Ohio State, Purdue, Penn State and Nebraska in their last four outings.
In the win over Nebraska, Michigan State’s lead scorer was Cassius Winston, with 29 points, six assists and three rebounds. Nick Ward put up 15 points and 10 rebounds to double up for the Spartans, and Kenny Goins added 11 boards there.
The Terrapins are 6-0 ATS in their last six road games and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 Monday games. Maryland is 4-1 ATS in their last five overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the Big Ten.
Meanwhile, the Spartans are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games and 7-0 ATS in their last seven Monday games. Michigan State is also 6-0 ATS in their last six following an ATS win and 7-0 ATS in their last seven versus the Big Ten.
The Terrapins have been playing very well all season long, and they’re finally getting due respect on the national stage. Some of the wins have certainly caused a heart attack or two, but Maryland has proven they can step on the court with anyone.
As for Michigan State, they’re blowing through pretty much everyone who comes by, but this will be the toughest test they’re faced in a while as part of three ranked teams in a span of four games.
I was going to stick with the at-home Spartans in a tough battle here, but with the line a little thicker than I thought it would be I’m going with Maryland.
