The Line: Michigan Wolverines -20.5 -- Over/Under:
Up at Crisler Center on Sunday, the UC Riverside Highlanders and the Michigan Wolverines will be meeting up in college basketball activity.
UC Riverside enters this game with a 2-2 record overall. The Highlanders have lost to Loyola Marymount and Portland State, and beaten California and West New Mexico. In that most recent game, UC Riverside’s Chance Murray put up 14 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals.
The Highlanders’ top scorer this year is Alex Larsson, with 14.0 PPG and 6.3 RPG, and Dikymbe Martin is sitting at 13.8 PPG, 5.0 RPG and 4.0 APG. Also in double-digits for UC Riverside is Brandon Rosser, with 12.8 PPG and 5.3 RPG.
Over on the Michigan side, they’re sitting at 5-1 on the year. The Wolverines’ lone blemish was a 2-point loss to LSU, and since then they’ve beaten Chaminade and VCU. In that VCU game, Duncan Robinson led the Wolverines with 18 points and five rebounds.
Michigan’s top scorer this year is Charles Matthews, with 16.7 PPG and 5.7 RPG, and Moritz Wagner is second with 14.3 PPG and 8.3 RPG. Robinson (13.0 PPG) and Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman (12.5 PPG) are also averaging in double-digits for the Wolverines.
UC Riverside is 4-1-1 ATS in their last six Sunday game sand 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Highlanders are also 1-7 ATS in their last eight non-conference games and the over is 4-0 in their last four Sunday games.
Meanwhile, the Wolverines are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games following an ATS win and 4-1 ATS in their last five Sunday games. Michigan is also 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games following a straight-up win and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five non-conference games.
After a couple of relatively limp performances, the Highlanders bounced back and took care of business in their last game, winning by 18. As for Michigan, they’ve looked a little sketchy at times this year, but aside from that 2-point LSU loss they’ve done okay. Still, I like UC Riverside to hang in there and cover in this one.
