The LSU Tigers and the Mississippi State Bulldogs will meet up in college basketball action on Wednesday.

LSU enters this game with a 17-4 mark overall. Following a 10-game winning streak that dated back to December 15, the Tigers took a 90-89 loss to Arkansas in their last outing back on Saturday.

In the loss to the Razorbacks, LSU was led by Naz Reid’s double-double on 19 points, 10 rebounds and two assists. Ja’vonte Smart added 18 points for the Tigers there, and Skylar Mays chipped in 17 points.

Over on the Mississippi State side, they’re 16-5 this year. The Bulldogs are just 2-2 in their last four games, posting losses to Kentucky and Alabama with wins over Auburn and Mississippi during that stretch.

In the win over the Rebels, Mississippi State guard Quinndary Weatherspoon logged 27 points with eight rebounds to lead the team. Reggie Perry doubled up for the Bulldogs in that one, posting 21 points and 11 rebounds.

The Tigers are 4-0 ATS in their last four after an ATS loss and 5-0 ATS in their last five road games. LSU is 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 versus the SEC and 6-2 ATS in their last eight overall.

Meanwhile, Mississippi State is 4-1 ATS in their last five Wednesday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five home games versus a team with a winning road record. The Bulldogs are 0-4 ATS in their last four after an ATS win and the over is 4-0 in their last four home games.

LSU didn’t give a whole lot of indications that they were due for a wakeup call heading into that last Razorbacks game, but the Tigers had only dispatched Arkansas by six points in their first meeting, which was one of the closest games on their recent schedule.

Mississippi State at home could prove to be a pesky team here as well, since the Bulldogs have scored at least 79 points in each of their last three. I like Mississippi State to hang around here but I’m not certain they should be favored. I’m sticking with LSU on an outright win.
