The Cincinnati Bearcats will take on the Ole Miss Rebels in college basketball activity Saturday at the Arena at NW Florida State.
Cincinnati enters this one at 4-1 thus far. The Bearcats fell to Ohio State in their opener but since have taken out NC Central, Milwaukee, Western Michigan and George Mason.
In the Friday game, Cincinnati’s lead scorer in the 71-55 win was Cane Broome with 21 points, and Tre Scott followed up with 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Jarron Cumberland also finished in double-figures for Cincinnati with 11 points and six boards.
Over on the Mississippi side, they’re 3-1 this year. The Rebels took out Western Michigan in their first game and then fell to Butler before regrouping against Nicholls State earlier this week.
On Friday versus Baylor, Mississippi took a 78-70 victory. Topping the scorers there for the Rebels was Breein Tyree with 28 points, three assists and two rebounds. Bruce Stevens finished with 17 points and eight rebounds as well.
Cincinnati is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 overall and 2-5 ATS in their last seven neutral-site games. The Bearcats are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games and the under is 6-0 in their last six versus the SEC.
Meanwhile, the Rebels are 5-0 ATS in their last five overall and 4-0 ATS in their last four non-conference games. Ole Miss is 6-2 ATS in their last eight following an ATS win and 1-6 ATS in their last seven Saturday games.
The Bearcats are looking pretty strong this year; they hung with a solid Ohio State team and since have relied on defense to get them four straight wins.
As for Mississippi, they’ve got a nice defensive setup as well, and should match up against the Cats pretty nicely. I expect this one to be a great game, and I’ll take Cincinnati in a cover if the line looks good.
