Missouri State Bears -6.5 O/U: 129
The Northern Iowa Panthers and the Missouri State Bears will meet up on the college basketball circuit Wednesday.
Northern Iowa enters play here with a 12-15 mark so far. Following two consecutive losses to Bradley and Drake, the Panthers have won their last two versus Illinois State and Evansville.
In the win over the Purple Aces, Northern Iowa’s top scorer was AJ Green on 21 points with three rebounds. Doubling up with 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Panthers in that one as well was guard Trae Berhow.
Over on the Missouri State side, they’re 15-12 on the year. The Bearss have won their last four straight games, taking out Southern Illinois, Illinois State, Evansville and Loyola IL in that stretch.
In the win over the Ramblers, Missouri State’s top man was Keandre Cook on 18 points with three rebounds. Tulio Da Silva added 16 points and nine rebounds for the Bears in that game, and Josh Webster managed 10 rebounds with seven points.
The Panthers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall and 5-2 ATS in their last seven versus the MVC. Northern Iowa is 7-20-1 ATS in their last 28 road games and the over is 5-1 in their last six road games.
Meanwhile, the Bears are 5-1 ATS in their last six Wednesday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven versus a team with a losing straight-up record. The under is 5-0 in Missouri State’s last five Wednesday games and 10-2 in their last 12 overall.
The Panthers have had some good offensive output lately, even in their losses. Over each of the last four games, Northern Iowa has put up at least 71 points.
Missouri State lost a close one 64-59 the last time these teams met up, and since they’ve put up some nice defensive efforts, so this should be a fun matchup. I’m going to put a little faith in Northern Iowa’s offense and take them on the cover here.
