The Central Florida Knights visit the Missouri Tigers in on-conference college basketball action.
The Central Florida Knights have won five in a row after upending Alabama 70-64 on Thursday. Central Florida won the shooting battle 46.7%-37.9% but the Crimson Tide were competitive with 16 offensive rebounds leading to 21 more shots.
BJ Taylor carried the Knights offense with a contest high 24 points on 6-11 accuracy and 9-11 at the line followed by Aubrey Dawkins with 16 points on 3-10 shooting and 10-10 at the stripe. UCF received ten points and four blocks from Tacko Fall on 5-8 from the floor while Chad Brown added eight points and eight rebounds on 3-4.
The Missouri Tigers dropped to 3-3 in the early going after a 79-77 loss to visiting Temple on Tuesday. Missouri trailed by ten at the intermission with a second half rally running out of time. Both squads sank shots in the 52% range with temple totaling 14 more looks while Missouri hung tough with eleven long balls and a 14-4 edge at the stripe.
Mark Smith led a balanced Tigers offense with 19 points and six boards on 7-10 marksmanship with Kevin Puryear adding 16 points and six pulls on 6-12 from the field. Missouri saw 14 points and ten rebounds from Jeremiah Tilmon on 4-8 while Jordan Geist and Javon Pickett tossed in eleven and eight points respectively.
